Will it be possible one day
For the world order of today
To abandon the downhill bay
And course correct midway
Will it be possible one day
When the green shoots of creation
Shall not recoil with trepidation
At the noxious fumes and pollution
Will it be possible one day
For the rivers and the oceans
To gurgle in sheer merriment
Without the load of the remains
Will it be possible one day
For the common bond of humanity
To encapsulate all religions
For permanent peace and tranquility
Will it be possible one day
To institute a new political process
Where genuine causes are redressed
And the wayward brought under duress
Will it be possible one day
When all surplus food wasted
Reach the needy and the hungry
And the ones truly dispossessed
Will it be possible one day
When the infirm and the aged
Are not left to rot on the streets
To wait for the mercy of death
Will it be possible one day
For humans to surrender to the natural
And seek wholesome happiness
In preference to just being material

H G Wells had visualised the transformation of the human race through the divine intervention. In his book, “In The Days Of The Comet”, he articulated his vision of the process of transmutaion on earth. He imagined a comet from the outer space hitting the earth and releasing green vapours which brought about the desired change in the human character. in the broader sense, this book falls in the category of science fiction.
In the Biddhist view, the world around us is a reflection of the collective karma & longings of the living beings, and therefore, only an inner transformation of the humanity can bring about any real change in the outer world.
In the Hindu mythology, there is a concept of Kalki Avatar, whose incarnation will transform the world by eliminating the evil.
The present world may be looked upon as a run away train moving at an enormous speed without any direction. For your dream to come true, perhaps a divine intervention in some form would be necessary. In short, this may be the only way to save this planet from catastrophe.

Thanks for your elaborate comment. The present rate of economic progress is clearly unsustainable where we are extracting much more from this earth than we are giving back!!
