MOTHER TERESA – AS I SAW HER

The smile on the lips
The outstretched hand
Beckoning a destitute
With comfort and warmth

Hesitation can occur
When you give only a part
But when you give it your all
It promptly deserts

To be suitably replaced
With divinity and grace
On a frail old woman
With a glint on her face

Not to be misunderstood
As a sign of weakness
The epitome of tenderness
Laced with firmness

Mother to all humanity
Compassionate and caring
A living saint in our midst
Courageous and daring

Many accolades, one lifetime
Magsaysay, Nobel, Order
But for the dying on the streets
Only a deeply loving mother

  1. An excellent picture of mother with a few brush strokes of words! We are very fortunate to be on the earth in the same time frame and in same city. কোন আলোতে প্রাণের প্রদীপ জ্বালিয়ে তুমি ধরায় আস/ সাধক ওগো, প্রেমিক ওগো, পাগল ওগো, ধরায় আস …..

  2. Very nicely worded, bringing Mother’s picture in front of my mind!! The feel, the look, the touch all have been beautifully brought about!! Above all the last stanza brings about the humility of the Great Lady Saint!!

    Very Good Subir!
